Review of The Untouchables (1987) by Matt W — 07 Mar 2010
The Untouchables is a great great great movie. It's one of the most authentic gangster movie ever! Its got a terrific cast with Kevin Costner, Sean Connery, Andy Garcia, and Robert De Niro as Al Capone.
The Untouchables is also part of my annual Academy Award tradition. Since the 2007 Oscars (where Marty Scorsese finally won his Best Director award), I watch The Untouchables the day of the awards, before the cermoney. And every year since, I've watched The Untouchables before the oscars...and this year marks another year to add to it. Some may think I'm wierd for doing this, but this is what I enjoy doing, so now every knows.
One great thing about The Untouchables, alone from the terrific performances, set pieces, story, and tone, its hands down the music that makes it great. Its brilliant and chilling, which is what I love about it.
The Untouchables is a great movie to add to greatest gangster movies ever!
