Review of The Untouchables (1987) by Rameshwar N — 06 Jul 2011
The brightness, colors used, flamboyance is a bit out of tone than we usually see in this genre. At times the dialog too seems a bit disconnected. Neither the drama nor the action reaches the potential it could have been.
A special mention on the art department's exquisite presentation and attention to detail of the period. Performances were apt but not extra-ordinary except for Sean Connery's role which is unlike what we see of him.
Overall it is a decent crime drama but never a classic it was made out to be. Also what I read of the real story does not sync with what is shown.
