Review of The United States of Leland (2003) by Adam P — 06 Aug 2007
It held my interest until the very end, when it really hit me -- this movie is outstanding. The direction; the way it all goes to black when the knife is raised suddenly, that agonizing silence where you're sitting there, gobsmacked, hoping in vain that it did NOT just happen.
I always liked Ryan Gosling, but my respect for him has increased dramatically after seeing this. The same goes for Chris Klein too -- I shall no longer refer to him as "that twat from American Pie.
" And Kevin Spacey? I adored him, unsurprisingly.
