Review of The Unholy Three (1925) by Joel W — 05 Jun 2007
There are two versions of this film. The 1925 silent one, and the 1930 talkie. Both had Lon Chaney is the role of Echo. The 1930 version is superior, simply because it's the only talkie that Lon Chaney ever did.
His voice talents were famous on stage, but films could never capture his talents because all the films he was apart of were silent, except this one. Chaney died two months after the release of this film from throat cancer/pneumonia.
Lon Chaney was a man well before his time. If you get a chance to watch any Lon Chaney film, don't pass it up. Any of his performances, especially Phantom of the Opera, are still amazing, even by today's standards.
