In recent decades, religion has become more and more troublesome. I think the world got a colossal wake up call during the terrible terrorist attack of 911. As a result, many people began to think more seriously about both the good and bad sides of religion. It also triggered a new generation of what some call, "The new atheists". In my own country, some religious people-not all-have lashed out at the way America is changing. Many right wingers are attacking the idea of Separation of Church and State, as well as the secularization of the U.S. They continue to claim America is founded on Christianity, despite the words of John Adams in the Treaty of Tripoli. Whether or not it's merely a political reaction from the likes of Hitchens, Dawkins, and Harris, many have now become atheists and freethinkers because of these men.

"The Unbelievers" is a documentary following two scientists Richard Dawkins and Lawrence Krauss. Dawkins in the famous evolutionary biologist, and is considered by many to be a "radical" anti-theist. By his side is particle physicist, Lawrence Krauss, director of the Origins Project at Arizona State University. The documentary follows the two men as they venture around the world, giving public lectures about science, religion, and the future of humanity.

As a documentary, it was pretty well made. The music, camera work, and editing were pretty good. However, it wasn't the best documentary I've ever seen. It was great watching two men I have immense respect for having important conversations, it was just too short and abrupt in my opinion. Dawkins and Krauss visit universities, news shows, and other public places, but they don't spend enough time at each location. It feels very rushed and not enough substance is presented. However, it is an enjoyable documentary nonetheless. It was a joy watching these two minds speak out about skepticism, science, and thinking for yourself.
