Review of The Unbearable Lightness of Being (1988) by Shanshan S — 10 Jun 2007
As an adaptation of Kundera's novel it largely succeeds, but was difficult for me to become involved with the characters. A lot of the film seems to quite clinical (of course this is as much from the book as anything).
The scenes in Czechoslovakia are great in and of themselves though, and the characters in the film are not left without redemption.
