Review of The Unbearable Lightness of Being (1988) by Petter F — 28 Jan 2008
This movie had some of the most artistic and beautifully adapted film segments I have ever seen. The casting was wonderful.
Aside from that, it just didn't do it for me. They mentioned Tolstoy about 140 times...and that was pretty appropriate. It had the same quality of an excellent underlying story that just dragged on and on and on.
I think they could have cut about an hour out of this movie to make it really great. Do watch DVD extras if you watch it. The director talking about the film was more interesting than the film.
