Review of The Unbearable Lightness of Being (1988) by William T — 18 Jul 2008
Having watched it over 20 times over more than a decade, somehow I see myself going through stages experienced by Teresa, Thomas and Sabina. Life can only be lived once, no matter how light, no matter how heavy. Yet they all lived it bravely.
The movie's imagery gave it a life independent of Kundera's language game. I've yet to see a movie more erotic. Couldn't imagine an ending more romantic.
