Review of The Unbearable Lightness of Being (1988) by Larry Q — 25 Aug 2010
An interesting, somewhat artsy character study centered in Prague in the late 60's, around the time the Soviets crush the nascent rebellion.
There is some great footage interspersed throughout the middle of the film.
The major characters all start out a bit overblown; but, as the film progresses, they become more real, believable and you find yourself immersed quite nicely in the film.
The end smacks a bit of Deus ex machina - bit, given the flow of the film, somewhat fitting.
