Review of The Ultimate Gift (2007) by Paul N — 12 Mar 2008
A rather unsatisfying, predictable telling of a well-worn story. It doesn't challenge, doesnt' surprise, and ultimately doesn't do justice to the very important themes it seeks to discuss.
Worst of all, the ending is a blatant endorsement of the heretical 'prosperity theology' that is crippling American Christianity and reducing it's message to economically motivated hogwash. The movie would have been about 10 times better without the last five minutes. I was praying they wouldn't go there, and they did.
