Review of The Ultimate Gift (2007) by Sarah G — 18 Jun 2009
This is a very good movie. Its namesake, the Ultimate Gift, refers to nine gifts the protagonist, rich boy, Jason Stevens [played by Fuller], is left to receive upon his grandfather's [played by Garner] demise.
Along his journey of "gift" receiving, he gains that the bigger picture in life does not involve money, the importance of family, and so much more. It's also of note that the movie is based on a book [of the same title]; this is very telling as most all movies based on books have so much more oomph in them in terms of quality.
With an all star cast to back it up, Drew Fuller of "Charmed," James Garner of "The Notebook," and Abigail Breslin of "Little Miss Sunshine," this is an inspirational movie with a lot of heart, a lot of funny moments, and a lot of messages to impart with.
