Review of The Ultimate Gift (2007) by Cork B — 24 Dec 2018
Utimate Gift is a redemption story. Jason Stevens is a spoiled rich kid who goes to his grandfather's funeral only to be schooled by the dead guy that life is about more than money.
This movie is well done with maybe not top notch acting and effects, but it felt like a real movie and not a direct-to-video affair. There are some fairly recognizable faces in the movie as well. The story is heartwarming and the pacing fairly strong.
On the down side, some of the scenes just didn't ring true. Somewhere about the second test, Jason all of a sudden becomes a good guy? His conversion seemed almost non-existant. What was up with that out of context trip to South America and the books? The love story also felt a bit tacked on.
