Review of The Ugly Truth (2009) by Enrica C — 27 Nov 2010
Iâ(TM)m ashamed to admit that I did like the movie, just because it was kind of fun in some scenes. âThe Ugly Truthâ? is misogynist, sexist and offensive is so many different ways â" thatâ(TM)s what it is: offensive. Watching the movie, seems like women have no brain and need a man to support them and give them the right idea to get anything going. This is the reason why the movie got on my nerves right from the beginning and it still does if I think about the main plot of the movie. Itâ(TM)s sexist, and there something deeply wrong with the whole concept which is controversial and ridiculous. Still, I did like it and found it enjoyable because it was fun. Even if the ending was simply pitiful, lame and totally predictable.
I really blame Katherine Heigl for doing this, as a woman I really canâ(TM)t see how she could get as low as she did acting in this women unfriendly project. As for Gerard Butler, he should be ashamed as well: jumping from wonderful projects as â300â? to this crap â" well, âThe Ugly Truthâ? is a different project. Just be ready to feel offended in many different ways because thatâ(TM)s what I felt especially for the first 30 minutes or so.
