Review of The Ugly Truth (2009) by Mikael K — 04 Dec 2010
Not the worst possible romantic comedy, but a standard representative of this hideous genre nontheless. There is a corageous feel here at times, as the odd interaction between a sovinist TV persona and a career oriented but annoyingly romantic producer serves as fuel for situation comedy.
The actors aren't bad, and Heigl is really giving this her cutest best, but by the time the story reaches its conclusion the edge is completely gone. Probably a better-than-average pick for people into romance, but not my movie at all.
