Review of The Ugly Truth (2009) by Angie I — 05 Oct 2011
I don't even know where to begin to describe this movie. It pushed so many of my buttons that I'm not sure what I saw and what was extrapolated. I will say this though. The dinner scene was ridiculous and contrived. Only made me think Harry and Sally did it better and then I wanted to turn this off and watch When Harry Met Sally.
I thought a lot of what he said was true even though it was coming from a place of heartache. I thought a lot of her actions were typical and so her relationship reached its only possible conclusion. That only made the end seem more unbelievable however and I was once again reminded of Harry's amazing speech. I've heard that if you can say why you love someone, it's like not love. I don't know. All I know is that Mike left me cold and Harry left me moved.
