Review of The Ugly Truth (2009) by Remi L — 11 Jan 2012
Gerard Butler seems to be the king of romantic comedies! And I see why! His characters are always goofy and lovable, crass but comedy (and I'm not so sure he's acting). Katherine Heigl once again plays some kind of professional single woman with an unattractive defining trait (ex.
neurotic, shrew, nurse-maid) and in this case, the control freak who can't find a man. Butler's character offers his advice on what men "really want" (even though he himself is actually jaded), hilarity and romance ensue, followed by the big grand gesture.
I loved it. Despite the bad rap chick-flicks get, I still think they're a good form of escapism, and this is one I would recommend.
