Review of The Ugly Truth (2009) by Kay K — 08 Jan 2013
Although it was a no-brainer, it also left me feeling brain dead.
Katherine Heigl was great in 'Knocked Up' and Gerard Butler has tried out the rom-com thing in 'PS. I Love You' so I thought there could be a few easy laughs involved but I was terribly, terribly wrong. It was overacted and the humour was so shallow and predictable we actually left the cinema about half an hour before the film finished. Yep- my first walk out of the year. Butler's character was such an overly misogynistic tool and Heigl's character could have been likeable, but turned out just seeming like a shallow, cheap representation of a person.
I didn't go into this film expecting much and came out with even less than that. Only see it if you like shit stuff!
