Review of The Twilight Saga: New Moon (2009) by The Critic ( — 17 Oct 2013
Despite Javier Aguirresarobe's beautiful photography, the second installment in the 'Twilight' franchise plays out more like a dreary soap opera; a clear reflection on the source material. Central figure Bella Swan (a limp Kristen Stewart) is far too apathetic to be accessible or likable, leaving an underused Robert Pattinson and fine Taylor Lautner to drive the film forward - and that they do, doing the best with what they're given.
The multitude of fans will relish the emotional complexities of the love triangle presented here and the special effects also add a bit of spice to the mix.
