Review of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (2010) by David B — 13 Aug 2012

The biggest problem remains the characters: neither Slade nor Stewart are capable of turning manipulative whinger Bella into anything more than a joyless black hole sucking the life from every scene but the strange thing is that this is the best out of the series by far.

The special effects are a little hit and miss and the story does drag but is somewhat interesting and even though Kristen Stewart is portraying a character from the book, I'm guessing she wasn't this depressing, every scene she was in just made me want to turn it off but luckily most of the other characters were pretty good and Robert Pattinson is getting a tad better.

Back to the special effects (again), they weren't used as much but the wolves this time were alot better and more real but sometimes, in quick scenes looked a little tacky. The fight scene near the end is without the doubt the film highlight, with amazing stunts and choreography sort of makes the film epic which has been missed from the last two.

Again, if you love the books and have chosen a side (Team Edward & Team Jacob) then you'll love this...it's good but never a film I want to repeatably watch again and again. Overall it's Better than the first two instalments, but not likely to endear itself to detractors, Eclipse is all about the trashy topless wolves, dreamy abstinent vampires and doomy teenaged longing, with Hard Candy director David Slade making the most of a marginall.

If your a fan, you'll love...so far, I'm yet to be a fan...and never will be.
