Review of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (2010) by Danielle P — 22 May 2014

You might want to click the thumbs down already. To start off I've read all the books and I'm a pretty open minded person. I don't hate Twilight simply bcuz it's popular or that the vampires shine. No, not at all. So from here, you can stop reading or continue.

The Twilight books are nothing more than mediocre. So from there I know that none of the movies will ever be more than 80% on RT from me. That is entirely true. Twilight was a pile of shit(10%). From there we got a new director for New Moon. He created a decent film(70%). Now we have the director that should be filming these movies.

Eclipse begins as you know with Bella and Edward happy as can be. Little does she know there is a red head(a beautiful one) trying to kill her with her newborn army. Making that seem trivial is her battle between Edward and Jacob. Who does she love? If both, who does she love more? Oh decisions, decisions(Jane ;) ).

The movies pacing has finally caught itself in the right position. It flows peacefully and it's very enjoyable. The cinematography is also stepped up. I really did enjoy many of the shots they captured. The visuals were also up to par. I must admit I did love the wolves. The action scenes were really cool too. Great pacing, great cinematography, and excellent directing really make this film what the previous ones aren't. A good movie.

Rob and Kristin really picked up their acting game. Rob puts on a believable performance(finally) and really does show why he was chosen for the character(finally again). I'm guessing someone showed Kristen her last two performances. She learned that she doesn't have to take a breath between each word and look as if she's dying from a severe headache. She is finally bearable and I am so happy for that. The worst actor was probably Taylor Lautner. I suppose Kristin overshadowed him with her horrible acting in New Moon that I didn't even recognize his terrible acting. He was annoying and it all seemed forced. He probably is the worst part of the movie. Everyone else did great. Especially Dakota. I really wish they would have left her dialogue alone and not have shortened it.

All in all I would say this was a great movie. A huge step from the first two movies. Eclipse to me is the 2nd best of the books. Breaking Dawn has a lot to live up to now. Let's hope they keep the director around. Even though I heard he won't be. We'll see. I urge you to go into this with an open mind and not just write it off as crap because it's Twilight. I suppose what I'm saying is you should be an adult and actually watch this movie without wanting to hate it.

PS. The sad part is I love the Harry Potter series(the books) a billion times better than this overrated one and yet this movie was better than all the Harry Potter films (1-6). Feel free to disagree.
