Review of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 (2011) by Donna Y — 12 Dec 2015
The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 was weirdly enough, my first Twilight film that I watched fully. It's probably because I like the director Bill Condon and I was happy at the time for it. I usually don't do something like that for a series as I always start at the beginning so I can get to know the characters better, but since it's Twilight, I really didn't care and have always heard about how terrible the characters are, so I felt like watching Breaking Dawn Part 1 since I have it on my DirecTV list, and I find it a terrible film, but I wasn't as mad at it as I was with Fifty Shades of Grey.
The acting is really one noted, which made me feel like they didn't put that effort into it. I don't get the chemistry between Bella and Edward when Bella keeps saying that it always feel complete when Jacob is there which confuses me like why is she with Edward then.
The effects are terrible looking, and it's a bit too slow at times. There are some funny moments in an unintentional way, and there are some moments that really make no sense. The action scenes can be entertaining to watch, and the labor scene is a bit tense to watch which I like, even though it does get a little bit flashy at times.
The film doesn't feel like it's having much happiness as the characters kept talking about either getting the baby out, or getting rid of it. Overall, I did not like The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 at all and am glad that I'm finished with this film.
