Review of The TV Set (2007) by Robert B — 26 Aug 2007
Duchovny plays a struggling writer with a potential television pilot in development with a "network" run by Sigourney Weaver.
The comedy sets in what Duchovny nd Weaver have very different visions of what this tv show should be.
I found the writing in this film clever. Weaver's performance is absolutely hilarious. That alone is worth watching the film for. Duchovny is great in his typical deadpan way. The supporting cast deliver uniformly consistent performances making this worth a watch. My beef. The show they were 'making' sucked with or without Weaver's suggestions. A bit more work in that area could have elevated this film a little.
