Review of The TV Set (2007) by Joe B — 25 Sep 2007
Funny satire about one TV pilot in-the-making, aiming at TV networks and corporate big shots. Sigourney Weaver plays the big-shot and does a good job. I'm not usually a fan of David Duchovney, but he does alright here as the writer of the TV show who sees his TV show being turned into something he never intended, while powerless to do much about it.
I like how they also make fun of reality shows by featuring the reality show Slut Wars, hosted by Seth Green (watch the credits). The film is executive-produced (financed) by Judd Apatow (40 Year Old Virgin, Knocked Up, producer of Anchorman, Talladega Nights), and legendary screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan, who I am just guessing is the director's father.
