:fresh:The TV Set is a funny satire and drama about the hardships of making a pilot for television. Then you have to worry if the network will pick up the pilot for a complete season. This movie touches on every emotion that could be expressed. It shows the hard work that some people put into their investments. .

.

This film has top performances from today?s best. Just to name a few are David Duchovny as the writer of television pilot. Sigourney Weaver as one of the top people who have the final say if Duchovny?s pilot will make it onto the air. Ioan Gruffudd plays the new guy from London who is famous in Europe for BBC to work on America?s network..

.

In the film, Duchovny is married with one kid and another one on the way. So, he wants his pilot to go the way he wrote it, but is willing to do anything to insure his children are well off. Ioan Gruffudd on the other hand is drowning in his work that in effect causes his wife and child to move back to London. Weaver is in between marriages in the film and has one daughter that she consults with about everything..

My only criticism for the film is the ending. Perhaps the film wants a sequel or it leaves the ending to the audience to finish. For example, David Duchovny has serious surgery and in my opinion becomes addicted to pain killers because he keeps popping them in his mouth. But, no one says anything. Also, Gruffudd?s situation is tucked away by some of Weaver?s comments. So, if there were a sequel it would be nice to see these situations resolved. However, I wouldn?t expect a second film because The TV Set only pulled in $34,531 in the theaters..
