Review of The Truth About Charlie (2002) by Ask M — 09 May 2005
I'm sort of a Johnathan Demme fanatic. When I sat down and watched this I kept wondering how good it would've looked if I saw it at the theater. The DVD version is pretty neat. The best part is the Director's Commentary.
It was so fun listening to Mr. Demme talk about the process of making the film and also interacting with the film as if this was the first time he was watching it.That was a real treat. The film is pretty fun to watch.
I wasn't a fan of the original and nor did I ever see the original maybe because i'm just not interested. I heard it was a remake, but that didn't bother me. I think why most people dislike this film is maybe they see it too seriously or just didn't like it for what it is: Which is a Movie that isn't suppose to be taken seriously.
It's suppose to be a movie where you just sit back and have fun and that's exactly what I did while I watched it. thumbs up!
