Review of The Truth About Charlie (2002) by Olivia L — 11 Jun 2007
Most people hate this film. They need to stop comparing it to the original. Obviously you can't improve on Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn. There are no equals in the acting world for god sakes. But this film in and of itself is almost shockingly original.
It's awkward at times (ie. Aznavour singing to the audience) but Thandie Newton is amazing and Tim Robbins gives a great performence. It's a unique twist on the original. No 'Charade' but still great.
