Review of The Truth About Cats & Dogs (1996) by Sam B — 09 May 2008
An underrated film by Michael Lehmann (who is real hit or miss when it comes to feature films). Well worth watching again after all these years. It's basically the Cyrano de Bergerac story in reverse - female Cyrano and male Roxane.
Not as funny as the Steve Martin vehicle "Roxanne," but this film captures the poignancy of the drama better than the usual laugh-fest.
