Funny, profound, disturbing, prophetic..."The Truman Show" has all of these qualities in abundance and more. Few films have so effectively portrayed a man in a state of crisis, presented with the idea that his world may not be real.
The paranoia, trauma and beauty of this film are perfectly pitched - Peter Weir's direction and Jim Carrey's performance, along with Andrew Niccol's stunning screenplay are surely among the best in cinematic history.
