Review of The Truman Show (1998) by Carreh R — 21 Apr 2015
In film studies they love to discuss films in films, films about films, films exploring film making, films about voyeurism, films making us face the voyeuristic tendencies of movie watching and all this and more is in The Truman Show.
It is brilliant because even as it makes you feel somewhat guilty even as you know you are watching a film about film you get involved in Truman's struggle, you are right there with the entire world audience glued to your seat hoping hoping Truman will make it, will be okay.
Positively brilliant.
