Review of The Truman Show (1998) by Justin T — 08 Jul 2013
"We accept the reality of the world which we are presented". This among many is an example of why The Truman Show wasn't an OK, mildly entertaining, one trick pony. It was more than that.
It was smart and honest and exhilarating. Jim Carrey and Ed Harris make for charismatic leads, especially Jim Carrey. Peter Weir directs making us another audience member of the Truman Show, watching Truman Burbank and rooting for him and feeling with him the whole way.
Very well done.
