Review of The Trouble with Angels (1966) by Jami L — 30 Sep 2008
I happened to catch The Trouble With Angels on TCM last night. So naturally, I had to sit down and watch it, again.
The Trouble With Angels is my third all time favorite Hayley Mills movie. The first being Summer Magic, and the second being The Parent Trap.
This is the story of two misfit girls, Mary and Rachel, and their years at St. Frances Academy For Girls. It's a fun loving 60s movie from director/actress Ida Lupino. Rosalind Russell is cast as Rev. Mother in this film. I like her as an actress. I really enjoyed her performance in His Girl Friday. She plays this role well. The stern ways of the Rev. Mother are the ying to Hayley Mills', high spirited Mary's yang.
This is a feel good film for all ages. If you are fan of Hayley Mills, you should add The Trouble With Angels to your list.
