A film to watch. Based on the play by Euripedes, the Michael Cacoyannis movie is very faithful to the play and has one of the best acting companies I have ever seen. Katharine Hepburn channels Greek theatricality in her approach to Hecuba.
Vanessa Redgrave is earth-shaking as Andromache. This movie proves its tagline: The strength of mankind has always been its women. You must see this.
