Review of The Tripper (2006) by Graham H — 10 Aug 2007
If you're looking for clever social commentary, this is not your film. Yes, it may appear from the trailers that it is a democrats vs. republicans liberal bash-fest, but it isn't. It is, in fact, quite an enjoyable little slasher flick, with some social comments, but it doesn't really have a clear goal, and when looked at it as just a fun slashfest, its good.
Arquette has taken a good page from the book written by Wes Craven, and it is clear he paid attention during the 'Scream' shoots, because he does a commendable job as a director. The cast is great, there are some funny moments and a lot of hippies get killed.
