Review of The Tripper (2006) by Robert B — 01 Oct 2007
David Arquette makes his directorial debut with a slasher movie, about an axe murderer (Ronald Reagan?) who kills hippies.
The cameos are amusing. Trying to figure out why Thomas Jane signed up for this is amusing. Watching the film was not amusing. Arquette is not a director. It's almost worth watching for the laugh factor. I have no idea if he thought what he assembled would at all be considered a narrative, or perhaps he was stoned for the duration. I don't know. But this one was a mess. That being said, there are 3 or 4 lines of dialogue that made me laugh out loud. The subtext isn''t exactly subtle, but at least there is some. Yeah.
