Review of The Tripper (2006) by Patrick C — 11 Apr 2008
Sometimes what makes a movie isn't the script or the Oscar worthy performances, or the heart wrenching tale. Sometimes a movies is good because it's not any of those things. The Tripper is one of these kinds of movies.
Individually the different parts of this movie are not the best out there, however combine a hysterical look at drug usage and hippies, a hate of the right wing, an obsession with Ronald Regan, and a surprising and highly entertaining turn from Thomas Jane you get a movie that entertains without feeling insulting.
Think of it as a modern version of all the (good) 80's horror comedies.
