Review of The Tripper (2006) by Jack C — 09 Aug 2012
A convoluted mess of a horror movie, David Arquette's directorial debut, "The Tripper," is the kind of film that would typically die a quick death after screening at a few midnight festivals. The rambling story attempts to turn the genre on its head, but it ends up giving in to every slasher cliché (Arquette himself plays a backwoods redneck). The acting ranges from abysmal to barely adequate, with only Haas and Reubens providing any professional presence. Luckily for Arquette, he has got some minor star power to pump a little extra life into it. Ineptly written by Arquette and Joe Harris, The Tripper is a carnival of cretins doing and saying one ass-headed thing after another. Much like David Arquette's acting career, the film is often unbearable and rarely shows competence, but still remains an antagonistic curiosity that can't be easily denied. A mostly dull-blade exercise that offers little to think or scream about.
VERDICT: "Hit The Exits" - [Panned Reaction] These are some of the worst films ever made. These films do everything wrong and do it worse than bad. Audiences should never see this film under any circumstances! (Films that are rated 0.5 or 1 stars).
