Review of The Triplets of Belleville (2003) by Alan K — 11 Mar 2009
This film is brilliant. The score is magnificent, the animation is beautiful even when it is crude. The plot is unique, if bizarre, and the lack of dialogue makes subtitles largely irrelevant. It was a welcome gem in a world where animation tends to mean, horrible plot, poorly conceived characters, phony perfomances, and generic CG.
This movie is none of those things.
