Review of The Triplets of Belleville (2003) by Alex K — 21 Mar 2010
There are two truly great things about this movie. The first is the character design and animation. The design accentuates the character and truly bring them to life, and the animation is expressive, fluid, and emotional.
The animation adds a lot of humor to the story, without anything being said. The second great thing is how the story lacks almost any dialogue. This is truly an example of the power of great animation, how it needs no voice, and great storytelling.
The story is simple, but it benefits tremendously from it. Add some terrific music, and you get an animated film that is truly unique.
