Review of The Triplets of Belleville (2003) by Andrew W — 07 Sep 2010
Bloody brilliant. An animation that manages to be both quintessentially French and universal at the same time. Elements of Jacques Tati, who is briefly acknowledged in a glorious clip from "Jour De Fete" within the film.
The characters are surreal and wonderful and the attention to mannerisms brilliant. The dog is well observed and the whole story is a delight from start to finish. A delightful 78 minutes.
