Surreal and sweet. An interesting and enthralling plot, excellent characterization (especially considering the rarity of dialogue) and beautiful, yet quirky art. The brilliant soundtrack also deserves a mention, particularly the bizarre 'Cabaret Hoover', which is kind of industrial-minus-synths taken to the absolute extreme.
One of my favourite films of all-time.
