Review of The Trip to Italy (2014) by Anna P — 23 Sep 2016
I didn't know much about this film except that it was about food and the setting was in Italy. Plus the trailer made it seem like it was a fun comedy. So of course I wanted to see it. In hindsight I should have probably seen the first film.
Different kind of humour, improvisational, about poets and literature, also lots of impressions of movie actors.
There does not seem a story here really, no major conflict to resolve... just two guys travelling, researching, showing their everyday life, and how they manage with things that are happening back home. It is a bit slow, non-Hollywood, discover the land and food sort of film and the big thing, the conversations they have.
If nothing else, just watching for the scenery.
