Usually American producers try to do their own remakes of popular British TV shows and films, but this is a case where it went in reverse. This film is based quite heavily on the premise of the American masterpiece "Sideways.
" Two unlikely friends embark on a weeklong road trip, but instead of the wineries of California it's the fancy restaurants of northern Britain. Gorgeous scenery, a lot of amusing dialogue and a much more down to earth, poignant and realistic view of a similar series of events follow.
Good film. I still like Sideways better, but this is worth a watch.
