Review of The Trip (2011) by Matt M — 12 Aug 2013
Winterbottom's film is an intimate and original portrayal masculine childishness and the delicate verge of mid life crises which remains true to its theme by maintaining a certain level of honesty in its naturally flowing storyline and structure.
However, the film's strongest asset is the wonderful chemistry between the two leads Coogan and Brydon, who make a wide use of improvisation and share great moments of comedy which nevertheless conceal a tinge of melancholia and fragility.
