Review of The Trip (2011) by Razi A — 31 Dec 2013
Very amusing to watch even though you realize that not much actually happens. It is an exercise in subtlety and chemistry. That is actually what I like about it. It is a simple journey between two friends - food, conversation, reflection on life. I equally loved the absolutely beautiful and bleak scenery of the countryside throughout the film. The improv style leads to funny random conversations, good poetry and a whole lot of blended and dueling celebrity impressions. I really enjoyed this unique venture as a film, as an experiment, and as a story of the different paths of life.
I applaud them for revealing these serious things through mundane conversion, odd British humor, awkward dinners, and hiking excursions.
