Review of The Trials of Henry Kissinger (2002) by Yester — 24 Jan 2020
Documentaries are made by people that are passionate about a subject, the thesis of this one is that Kissinger is a war criminal. So the message of the documentary is "war criminal, war criminal war criminal" then it pretends to be balanced and present a different perspective, but it's so feeble and meek that they might as well have saved us a few minutes and give up the charade.
Don't get me wrong, the story they are telling is worthy of being told and heard. But when the Washington Post says; "Makes compelling, provocative and prescient viewing. You can draw your own conclusion." That last bit is laughable, that documentary doesn't want you to do that, it's a blunt tool.
