Review of The Trials of Cate McCall (2013) by Stewart F — 28 Jun 2014
Spoiler Alert!
At the end of the day, this is a very weak movie. The acting is good (although it is sad to see what has become of the rather wooden Nick Nolte), but the story is just too implausible. The "twist" is patently obvious, but the ease with which McCall gets her client off (and the evidence she produces) is too easy and literally incredible. It requires too big a suspension of the audience's critical faculties.
This is really more a TV movie than a cinema movie.
