Review of The Tree of Life (2011) by Maria H — 17 Mar 2013
Malicks obsession with the natural world and its ambience is forced upon us yet again. The parallels to the Thin Red Line and its attempt to capture the slight sights and sounds that embody that natural world in its unaltered state are just too obvious.
Every scene makes some effort to slow down your mind and heart rate. Why? No clue. As for the movie itself, its more about how Malick can relax you than a true plot. There isn't much here.
