Review of The Tree of Life (2011) by Herrera M — 18 Sep 2012
I placed the DVD in my system and within minutes I was in complete Awe.
Of the Awesomene power of the visuals in this film. The cinematography, the sound and the score is.
Breath taking. I still agree with my past self in thinking this movie.
Is self indulging to depths Ive never seen in any other film; however,.
This movie is definately a remarkable work of art. Just the first ten minutes.
Into the film the narration struck a cord making me feel emotional to.
The point of almost crying out loud. Then I realized, oh yeah im a robot, and.
Robots cant cry! This is the quote that I am refering to:
"nature only wants to please itself. get others to please it too.
Likes to lord it over them. to have its own way. it finds reasons to be unhappy.
When all the world is shining around it...when love is smiling through all things.
Perhaps because I feel this describes my selfish nature.
The movie is filled with a 20 minute montage of the creation of the.
Universe, (yeah thats how fucking self indulged it is) but it is some of.
The most beautiful movie magic I have ever seen! This should be seen just because it.
Exists.
Definitely watch this film if you are a parent, because some of the scenes.
With character interaction amongst the family is very raw but honest.
Any parent will be able to appreciate the beautiful birth scenes. This movie.
Also successfully conveys the tender love that a parent has for their.
Child. All the love, emotion and hate we often feel when we are in relationships.
Is depicted in this film in such a vibrant way. I love when brad pitts character.
Says: "I made him feel shame, my shame.".
My favorite parts of the film are with Brad Pitt (here in his best performance.
To date) and his beutiful family. I dont understand why the film doesnt.
Spend more time with these characters, letting the audience develop.
A better relationship with the characters and the film as a whole. The.
Two young boys in this film are both phenomanol actors but of course the.
Older brother steals the show! The sets and the costume design are both truly remarkable.
In this film.
Overall I think this is definately a film worth watching at least 2 times.
To be able to appreciate its depth as well as its beauty. It can be difficult.
To watch this movie at times as it does not really follow a traditional.
Linear storyline, but its a work of art that can be enjoyed by.
Everyone with a just a little bit of patience and openess.
I give this movie an A....now.
