The more I think about this film... the more I love it. It had a very 2001: A Space Odyssey feel. Malick's film was a direct descendant of the genre created by Stanley Kubrick. This type of film comes all down to taste.
.. you'll either absolutely love it or absolutely hate it. I'm with a former, but would absolutely understand if this movie's not for you. It's very quiet, understated and visual. Most viewers will look for a deeper meaning, but to me this film is ultimately about acceptance and forgiveness.
I would stand on the table to recommend this film -- 10/10.
