Review of The Tree of Life (2011) by Matthew C — 01 Apr 2013
Took me a while to get to this review. Basically this film is not a film, but an experience in philosophy, family moments, creation, death, transcendence, poetry, the Bible, and many other things depending on who you are and what mental state you're in when you watch it.
If you haven't seen it, give yourself the best experience with surround sound and a big TV if possible because it's not a film that can or should be watched just anywhere or anytime for any reason.
It's much more reflective, and powerfully acted as well as directed. Lots of discussion and if you're at a relatable place in life, then you may pull things from this story that others won't .
Something for everyone.
